Who We Are

Manukin was founded to address a growing gap in electric mobility: the relationship between vehicle quietness and human perception.

As internal combustion engines disappear, many of the auditory cues that pedestrians and drivers historically relied upon to interpret vehicle presence and motion are also diminishing. While electric vehicles reduce noise pollution, they introduce new challenges for intuitive interaction in shared urban environments.

Manukin is developing a patent-pending acoustic awareness system designed to improve low-speed vehicle detection and localization in dense mobility settings.

Our work is grounded in:

  • Human-centered design

  • Mechanical and systems-level feasibility

  • Responsible urban sound integration

  • Safety-driven development

The current phase focuses on prototype development, system refinement, and formative evaluation to establish technical feasibility and inform future validation, partnerships, and pilot programs.
